Impregnated Sisal Dollie Mops
Impregnated Sisal Dollie Mops are slightly harder than standard sisals as they have been treated.
Due to their size these mops can be used on a tapered mandrel in a drill, air tool etc or with a pigtail and bench polisher.
Use with cutting compound such as Apollo (non- ferrous) or Abracut (ferrous).
2″ diameter x 2 sec (1″) thick.
Green dry sisals are used when a little more cut is required as the mops are harder. They may also have a longer lifespan if standard dry sisals are wearing too quickly. Used for scratch removal in preparation for polishing.
Popular with those working with Steel and other hard metals.
What are impregnated mops?
They are a type of polishing tool used for metalworking and other applications that require high-quality surface finishing. They consist of a sisal cloth or mop that is impregnated with a polishing compound, such as wax, grease, or abrasive particles.
Sisal is a natural fiber that is extracted from the leaves of the Agave sisalana plant. It is known for its toughness and durability, making it ideal for use in polishing applications. The impregnated compound helps to lubricate the surface being polished and remove any scratches, blemishes, or oxidation.
Impregnated sisal mops are commonly used in metalworking applications such as automotive restoration, jewelry making, and machine tool polishing. They are also used in woodworking and other craft applications for smoothing and polishing surfaces.
Sisal mops are available in a range of sizes and grades, with coarser grades used for heavy-duty polishing and finer grades used for finishing work. They can be used with a variety of polishing compounds, depending on the desired level of finish and the type of material being polished.
